Welcome to the Yoga Tree

The tree in its beauty and grace is strong and yielding, anchored and flexible, rooted and expansive. Only through a grounded foundation, can we open to true freedom. Hatha yoga is the classical branch of yoga that endeavors to balance opposing energies. The physical practice of yoga honours our individual bodies through breath and alignment. At the Yoga Tree you are invited to explore balancing the mind, body and spirit through the practice of yoga asanas .(physical postures).

Class schedule changes effective May 7-June 12 Darlene will be away during this time. Dee, Samantha and Laurea will be teaching in her place. Read more about them under TEACHER. See under CLASSES for changes to schedule including who will be teaching.

Prenatal Yoga Course May 8-June 5, Tuesdays 12:00-1:15 $60 Practicing yoga in your pregnancy can relieve discomfort, reduce stress and encourage connecting with yourself and baby. Contact the Yoga Tree to preregister. Samantha of www.breatheintobeing.net will be teaching this course.

From the first class, Darlene knew that practicing yoga would be part of her journey. She was drawn to yoga for the sense of well-being it promoted. Over the years, yoga has been a source of balancing mind, body and spirit. She received her teacher training through Open Source Yoga with Dan Clement. Her intention is to make yoga accessible and hopes students are inspired to carry the mind-body connection into other aspects of their lives.

Darlene comes to teaching with a humble heart and is grateful to be able to share this transformative practice with others. The practice of yoga has the power to give pause in our lives and remind us of that which is greater than our individual selves.

May 7-June 12 Substitute Teachers
Dee: My training has a background of heart and Anusara influenced yoga. I like to teach all ages and abilities -my mantra being Yoga is for Every Body-if you have breath in your body you can do yoga and benefit from yoga. I try to gear my classes to whoever is there and am open to requests as much as possible!

Samantha: I have been intrigued by movement, education and beginnings for as long as I can remember, and my journey to becoming a classical yoga instructor with prenatal and workplace specialties, birth doula, and childbirth educator has been joyful and rich.

Laurea: I have been drawn to yoga for years. I feel I am truly “living the dream” by teaching yoga. Getting to my mat is always a treat for this busy mom of two lil ones. Helping me to cultivate patience and relieve stress. “It’s amazing what a deep breath can do!” Yoga has taught me to slow down and just “be”.

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I will meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about.    Language, ideas, even the phrase each other doesn’t make any sense.

All classes are open to everyone. Preregistration is not required. It is not necessary to call ahead and reserve a space.
The studio will be opened 15 minutes prior to each class. Mats and props are provided.

Level 1

Build strength, increase flexibility and find balance through this classical form of yoga. Discover the benefits of yoga in this class that incorporates foundation poses with focus on breath and alignment. Appropriate for all levels.

 

Mixed Levels

This class will be adapted according to the level of students in attendance of each class. Modifications will be included to either soften or intensify the practice to accommodate individual needs. Students of all levels welcome.

 

Gentle

This class moves at a slower, gentler pace encouraging relaxation and healing. Emphasis is on releasing tension, improving flexibility and cultivating body awareness. This calming and restorative class is appropriate for all levels.
